VALT 2016 Night 1 - Theme: VISION - "To see, to be blinded, or to have a glimpse into or an idea of the future."

"VALT differs from more traditional fashion
weeks in several ways, with the most obvious being
that fashion is not the entire focus of the event," explains Creative Director, Kat Ferneyhough. "We
host a visual art  exhibition, screen short films, as
well as present live musical acts and performance
art pieces. VALT is about living in an Alternative Fashion, and it is so much more than simply
showing unique clothes."

#VALT20016 holds a special significance for founders Kat Kozak and Kat Ferneyhough. It is their 5th season offering this showcase of alternative fashion, music and art.  A great milestone.  And the show continues to get better each year.

What I love best about attending VALT each season is its warmth. Everyone helping is relaxed. Smiles are frequent and questions are answered graciously. I have no idea if there is chaos ensuing backstage, but the front of the house vibe is fabulous. As this event is a celebration of our uniqueness, you'll see guests dressed in every style from conservative to striking alternative mixing, mingling and laughing together. A beautiful oasis in a world obsessed with differences.

The theme this evening was VISION - To see, to be blinded, or to have a glimpse into or an idea of the future. Our host was the beautiful model, Editor in Chief of Beautymark Magazine, writer, public speaker, and self love activist Ruby Roxx. She guided us graciously through an evening filled with stunning fashions and great performances. A gallery of artwork by visual artists and cash bar offering a wide range of drink/snacks kept the breaks interesting!

As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, so I'll let the images do the rest of the talking.  I have tried to include as many links as possible in case you want to know more about any of the designers or performers.
