My 2022 Theme - Embracing Chaos

It's January 1, 2022? How did 2021 fly by so fast. How did 2022 come so quickly.  Shocking.

The older one gets the faster the years seem to fly by.  For the last few years, on the first day I have chosen a word or words to give focus to the next 12 months.  This year Embracing Chaos is what has landed for me.

After two years of feeling drained of energy and creativity, I am ready to take the bull by the horns and move in a new direction. I'm ready to spread my wings and get moving.  I'm in the mood to change direction, and change and chaos seem to go hand in hand.

The impetus for this came partly from reading so many great books in 2021.  Books including -

  • The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg
  • Atomic Habits by James Clear
  • Untamed by Glennon Doyle
  • More Than A Woman by Caitlin Moran
  • Educated by TaraWestover
  • Becoming by Michelle Obama
  • If I Knew Then by Jann Arden
  • Your Writing Matters by Colleen M. STory
  • Ladyparts by Deborah Copaken
There were many, many more that I read over the year from a wide variety of authors representing different very diverse sexual, cultural and political orientations.  Some talked to me about being a woman, some looked at aging, some looked at choosing a path that made me happy but caused others grief, and some looked at my habits in a way that went way beyond the make it happen advice previous books have put forward. I understand now how habits work from a scientific standpoint and proven strategies to deal with unwanted ones.

In the end, all of 2021 I have been lead to look at my life and how I live it, to ask myself who do I want to be, to look at my habits and see which I would like to change, and to get ready to embrace the chaos that the changes I want to make in the upcoming year will bring.

Time to take control. Time to step into my power. Let the chaos begin. Seat belt on - helmet fastened. If you want to join me, I would love a partner in growth. Here we go!!!
