LaSalle College Vancouver (LCV)'s Fashion Design students will present their SS25 collections on the runway on Thurs., October 24th at 5 p.m. You can purchase your tickets HERE
Fashion is about so much more than clothes – it’s a multi-billion-dollar, world-wide industry brimming with opportunities for those who have the drive, skills, and training. LaSalle College Vancouver’s Fashion programs are globally renowned for setting the standard of innovative and supportive fashion design and marketing education. LCV conceived its fashion programs with the same attention to detail used in the construction of a garment. The courses were designed to put graduates at the forefront of the industry with real-world skills they’ll use every day.
From the classroom to the runway, students get the chance to showcase their vision at special events, competitions, fashion shows and photo shoots while they develop their portfolio. As designer Ralph Lauren said, “Fashion is about something that comes from within you.” At LaSalle College Vancouver, we help you bring what is inside you to the world stage.
Bio: Sophia Glaubach is a textile visionary who works with creating hand-crafted silhouettes that are unconventional yet speak to cultural wisdom. Using fine mohair fibers hailing from their ancestral Argentina, they spin yarns into unexpected textural delights and begin the artistic journey of discovery. With crochet as a focus in the ReBirth collection, they loop emotion into every stitch, using a whisper white pallet that cleanses while it reimagines a future. The web fractals are a metaphor for the reconstruction of self, which represents Glaubach's vision for an inclusive brand that supports sustainable initiatives.
Collection name: ReBirth
ReBirth" is about freeing oneself from the societal web of expectations from others. As a person fights through this dense web, they are able to see it for what it is. This allows them to separate from it and gain new perspectives. Some chosen parts stick to them that they carry with themselves, as they free themself from the rest that does not serve them. Then as they discover themselves at their pure essence, they are able to rebuild their new space as an outer expression of self. Wearing this newborn self with pride, inspiring others to follow the same journey.

With a focus on blending tradition and modernity, she aims to reshape the future of fashion and challenge the conventions of clothes.
Collection name: Dragon Lady
Florence Duong's "Dragon Lady" collection is inspired by the Chinese myth of the "Dragon Gate," a legendary waterfall where a carp, after struggling to swim upstream, either transforms into a dragon or perishes from exhaustion. This story serves as a metaphor for women breaking free from patriarchal limitations to reclaim their power and shape their own destinies. The collection incorporates fish leather, echoing the life cycle of the salmon—born in freshwater, migrating to the sea, and returning to lay eggs, completing the cycle. This parallels the journey of the "Dragon Lady," who overcomes societal constraints, transforms herself, and leaves a powerful legacy for future generations. It is a tale of birth, struggle, transformation, and female empowerment.

Collection name: The Chrysalis
In the space between caterpillar and butterfly lies the chrysalis, a profound stage of transformation marked by the echoes of trauma. Within this fragile cocoon, old identities dissolve, surrendering to a chaotic blend of potential and uncertainty. It is a liminal realm where familiar forms unravel, and one finds themselves neither fully caterpillar nor yet butterfly. This moment is steeped in the rawness of vulnerability, as the weight of past wounds merges with the promise of rebirth. Here, in the quiet depths of metamorphosis, we confront the shadows of our trauma while nurturing the whispers of our emerging selves, embodying the delicate beauty of change and the resilience required to embrace it. Through this process, we learn that even in our most broken states, transformation is possible, revealing the strength that lies within our scars.

Collection name: L'Allumeuse
This collection is inspired by a poem from the great Persian poet Hafez, where he describes an 'allumeuse' woman as one who possesses an internal power to make the room her own. This internal power is described as a garment sewn to the allumeuse woman’s personality, giving her the ability to captivate lovers and bring chaos to the city if she chooses.
