Review - 

It has been awhile since I enjoyed reading any science fiction, and I have to start by saying this book came as a surprise. The format is unlike other traditional science fiction books or even graphic novels. Each page offers a large, all-caps font, and limited words - never more than a few sentences. Those words are sometimes placed on the page in a way that adds a special rhythm or emphasis. Minimalist graphics appear alone or in combination with the written word. I wasn't sure what to make of it at first, but despite the brevity of the narrative, I found myself drawn into the story and the pacing created by this unusual presentation. It isn't a novel in the traditional sense. It is a unique way for readers to experience a new myth unfold.

At the start, we follow Global Leader Michael Cherub as he attempts to awaken a comatose woman with the whole world watching, and everyone rhythmically chanting, "Wake Up." When the woman awakens for a brief moment and speaks the word "Hashmallim," Cherub notices something in her eyes that unnerves him. He flees the stage and ends up leaving the life he knows to become a Dew. The book turns at that point to explore the Dews - what they are and how they serve humanity. When I reached the end, the story felt unfinished. Things weren't neatly wrapped up with a bow. Then I read this book is part of a series that "...delves into the delicate balance between evolution and destruction, a journey fraught with cosmic peril, untapped human potential, and the mysteries of consciousness." 2077 is one piece of a mythological mosaic the author is creating. It will take them all to complete the story.

2077 is a message from the future, a new mythology, created to inspire conversations around consciousness, spirituality and human potential.
