What Do You Chase?
by Marilyn R. Wilson

A whisper
A nudge
A yearning
A siren's call

Somewhere deep within
Buried and forgotten
A need slowly rises
Undeniable and persistent

Like water flowing
Through cracks in stones
Dripping, dissolving,
Recreating the landscape

Stalactites and stalagmites
Closings and openings
Redirections and pauses
Challenges and breakthroughs

Life's journey is an amalgam
Of our ancient soul's past
Our unfolding present lifetime
And what we passionately chase.

A pursuit guided by whispers
And nudges and yearnings
Ancient tales and a siren's call.
Yet strong hands grip the helm.

Our future can be molded
The goal of the hunt shifted.
By asking one simple question
What do you chase?
