Holiday Cocktail - Butter Fingers

When I shared a cocktail recipe I was hoping to try over the holidays - a Double Espresso Martini - one of my friend shared this one with me in the comments. It really is more of a dessert drink in many ways. But I had most of the ingredients and a friend coming over, so decided to give it a whirl.

It tasted like the holidays, 100 percent, so the timing was right as Xmas was not far away.  I did find the taste of coffee from the Kahlua took center stage so might change the proportions slightly in the future to see if I like it better, but over all it was a success.

One important thing I want to share is that, as this is all alcohol, the ice is super important.  I placed everything in a shaker with ice and gave it a proper workout first. This not only chilled all ingredients, but added a touch of water. Then I served the drink in on the rocks glasses over a good bunch of ice. The mix honestly only made a small addition to each glass without the ice.

There is a real sweet spot for this drink. You want some ice melted but not all of it. So sip slowly and when you find that sweet spot for you, then you can finish it. This is best enjoyed mid-afternoon or after the evening meal as it is a true dessert drink in terms of the sweetness level. I mixed a batch of 3 servings for the 3 of us instead of one at a time and it worked just fine.

Enjoy!
