Hey Muse, It's Marilyn
by Marilyn R. Wilson

Hey Muse, it's Marilyn.
Yes it's been awhile since we connected.
Part my fault. Okay mostly my fault.
I haven't been showing up as regularly.

Just wanted to reach out and say hi,
To let you know I miss our connections,
The random ideas you dropped in my lap,
While pounding the keys feverishly.

What else do I miss? Mornings.
I loved your early hour whispers
Nudging me awake, tickling my ears
As the sun began to shine in my window.

It was also special when you walked with me
Ensconced theatrically on my shoulder
Nudging my attention towards nature's magic
Inspiring me to create poems of gratitude.

Today I take steps to blast away our distance,
Recommit to showing up daily, doing the work.
You'll find me at my desk typing away madly.
I hope you'll pop by. Your whispers are welcome.

Hey Muse, it's Marilyn.
Are you there? Do you hear me?????
