Haste Ye Back
by Marilyn R. Wilson

Haste ye Back.....

Offspring who've flown the nest
To make a home in strange lands
Embracing new lives
Created in your womb
Exploring different paths
Forging new directions
Embracing what brings you joy
Still there comes a time
To be nurtured and held.
Take a rest from your journey
Folded safe in my arms.

Haste ye back....

Beloved friends of old
Our lives diverged widely
Continents divide us
Through the ether we reach
Voices full of longing
For a meal shared together
For auras that swirl and blend
My doors are wide open
Come by plane, train or car
A room and bed await you
All it asks is you come.

Haste ye back....

Those who have departed
Flown from our worldly plain
An accident snatched you
Illness or old age came calling
It was your time but not mine
So I reach out in longing
Hold you close in my heart
Speak softly to you on waking
Share my life's joys and woes
And dream of your return
Await our next life together

haste ye back….
