About the Collection -
Pattern Nation x CLAIRE UPCYCLED + JAQKE presents a 1 of 1, upcycled, streetwear collection for Vancouver Fashion Week SS27
This collection is inspired by the power of collaboration. These designers all have different journeys, traveling the world to different countries, taking inspiration along the way. The through-line here is the eagerness to create using found materials with artistic talent.
Collection Statement:
This collection, "MEANT 2 B" is a 1 of 1, gender neutral, sustainable fashion collection consisting of bold, colourful, wearable art design and streetwear construction created by Pattern Nation x CLAIRE UPCYCLED + Jaqke. These designers are bringing art to the forefront of fashion and blending in deadstock fabric provided by Fabcycle (Vancouver). Come see how this collection merges original textile design and deadstock fabric sourced in South Africa by Pattern Nation, original designs screenprinted on scrap fabric by CLAIRE UPCYCLED, and conceptual composition by Jaqke Austdone. Be aware, you may feel inspired, tap into your visionary senses and want to wear colour.
Sustainability & Brand Values:
Eco Fashion is the future when it comes to the work of these designers. Using deadstock, scrap, thrifted, vintage, secondhand and donated materials, this work is a sustainable momentum in a world of overflowing landfills. All artwork is original and hand-drawn to then screen printed or applied through different construction techniques that make it unique.
These designers all represent parts of the Queer community, and diversity, self-expression and gender-neutral fashion is a big part of their work. Future Goals. The future of these designers is to continue to elevate the fashion world with their innovation of merging art and secondhand clothing as individual creators as well as a collaborative collective of artists.
