Kieron Rhys Lillo has been a supporter of VALT since its very beginning and has taken the stage as emcee the last 3 seasons.

My favourite memory? In November 2015, he rocked the stage as an emcee one night - blowing everyone away with costume and character reminiscent of a Stargate Jaffa.

#VALT2016 is very special. It's the 5th anniversary of Vancouver Alternative Fashion Week and of course Kieron was again a part. This time he stepped onto the stage to emcee the opening gala last night - a rave performance as always! I was so delighted when he sent me a personal note to share on VALT and share it below!

Want to know more about Kieron? You can check out my previous Q and A with him HERE! You can  connect with him through one of his links at the bottom.

From the desk of Kieron Rhys Lillo!

This is VALT's fifth year, and I'm honoured to once again be a part of this amazing weekend. It will be my third year hosting, this time for the opening Gala event. There are so many amazingly talented artists, musicians, and designers being showcased in this 4 day event, being brought to light from their underground scenes. You'll truly never see anything like this anywhere else in Vancouver.

Over the years I've just been consistently blown away by what I've seen pumped out of the community here. From Dark Arps utilizing 3D projection mapping and midi triggers to flush out his stage show, to designers like Nikki Rose, creating wonderfully fantastical wearable works of art, Jennifer Little's body painting, Phresha's paintings. There's so many mind blowing artists in this city's underground, and a lot of them collect here at VALT.
